Back in May last year it was annouced over at the YouTube API Dev blog, that the PS3 was due to receive an update to integrate the YouTube API’s. This update allows game developers to create games that enable direct upload of in-game video captures to YouTube, not only into new PS3 game titles, but also existing PS3 titles that have the ability to receive network updates.
Mainichi Issho was the first game to incorporate this, and Noby Noby Boy released last week via the PlayStation Store, has also included this functionality. Capturing footage is straight forward, anytime in-game simply press and hold the Square button, select the video format (in this case YouTube) and your away. Once you decide to finish recording press and hold the Square button once again to stop recording. Providing you have entered your YouTube credentials via the in-game menu (and accepted a 16 page usage agreement) the upload to YouTube will begin.
Here’s a couple I made earlier:
To be honest, I have no idea whats going on Noby Noby Boy (or Nobi Nobi Boy) but its quite good fun. Its only about 3 quid as well, so if you can sacrifice a pint, give this a go, even if its a distraction whilst downloading demos etc from the PlayStation store.
