A sad day, and possibly of the worst timing considering:

The amount of decent games that had just released.

The fact I had been a good boy all year, and was expecting some gaming delights in return at Christmas.

The gaming bargains that were kicking around.

Anyway, it was packed up and sent off to the European Repair Center Frankfurt, Germany. Xbox-less for Xmas. What a time to be missing out, even my 360′s own blog was taunting me.

Well January 5th, 2009. A new year, and apart from the snow, something else turned up today…

:)

Yep its back Same Xbox, but with a replaced motherboard and DVD drive. Happy days. I also can’t believe how quiet it is, before it sounded like it was going to take off, I may have to free up some space and get something installed and try that out.

Now, what to play first?

I got my 360 around launch day, and although that has since suffered a RROD and was replaced last year, I still have and use the same controller from my original deck.

When I brought a new up 360 controller earlier this week, I immediately noticed this new controller felt a bit, different … Check it out:

n00b 360 Controller

VS

Veteran 360 Controller

Yep after years of play, the nubs on the left thumbsticks on the old controller have actually been worn down… the right nub has more or less completely gone. Master Chief himself would be proud of this battle scarred veteran.
